Harvest 2024 + Wine Club News

Harvest 2024 has now come and gone. All of our wines are fermenting away in tank or barrel. This harvest wasn’t a typical Okanagan one, but instead a travelling one, with new opportunities and creative thinking thrown in.

Our Winemaker, Alison, spent much of September in Oregon. Back in July, Alison hand-selected two vineyard sites – five specific blocks of grapes that were farmed specifically for Solvero.

Pinot Noir was selected for our sparkling wine base, we are very excited to introduce a  Blanc de Noir to our portfolio! Stay tuned for more info to come on that.

Those grapes came from the Hyland Vineyard in the McMinnville AVA. Pinot Noir was also chosen for Rose. We found ideal Chardonnay grapes from the Aebischer vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.

Alison, pictured with the bin of grapes, was on site at the vineyards in Oregon to decide on the timing of the hand-harvest. She even managed the whole cluster pressing of the grapes in Oregon on the same day. The juice was then chilled and shipped in a refrigerated truck to Solvero. It is now finishing fermentation here at the winery in Garnet Valley.  Even though these grapes come from Oregon, we oversaw the entire process just like we would at home.

Like most wineries bringing fruit in from the US, these wines from Oregon won’t be available for awhile as we continue to sell our current releases.

When we do release them, they will be clearly labelled so you know where they’ve come from and how they’re made.

They are being brought to the bottle with the same care and attention as if the grapes were grown in our own vineyards.

It may be an unusual harvest, but we are grateful for new opportunities and for our friends and colleagues in Oregon. As you can tell from the photos, it’s just as stunning there as it is here.

Solvero Wine Club

We’ve just sent out our fall wine club shipment. If you’re already a member, you’re in for a real treat! This shipment includes our 2022 Chardonnay, 2023 Pinot Gris, 2023 Rose, 2019 Pinot Noir, 2020 Pinot Noir, and 2021 Pinot Noir. We often include a small artisanal gift with each shipment as well, to highlight local businesses we love and to say thank-you for being a member.

Because we are a small winery with limited inventory, we only have so many spots available in our wine club. Our members get first dibs on our small-lots, new releases (like the 2021 Pinot Noir), and our library wines (like the 2019 Pinot Noir). We even have plans of releasing exclusive Solvero wines just for our club.

We love to host our members, whether it be for wine club events, or for complimentary tastings for members and up to five guests. Our Solvero Wine Club members enjoy free shipping on 12 bottles, or more, outside of their regular shipments. In addition, they can pause their memberships at anytime if they’ll be travelling or need to skip a shipment for any reason.

We couldn’t tell you about the fall shipment in advance so you could sign-up because we included a vertical (the same wine across different years) of three Solvero Pinot Noirs from 2019 – 2021. Our library had just the right amount of 2019 Pinot for our current club members. This is a great example of the library wines we hold back to share with our Solvero Wine Club.

What are you waiting for? Join now to take advantage of member benefits while there is still space in the club. Our next club shipment will be in the spring. Who knows what gems we’ll include?! You’ll have to sign up to find out.
