Our Story

Following a conversation in 2012 over a glass of exceptional cool-climate Pinot Noir, our family began the pursuit of the perfect vineyard site to reflect our vision and the potential for this extraordinary grape in the Okanagan. After an extensive search, a rare opportunity presented itself in the form of a previously undiscovered 25 acre property in Garnet Valley, Summerland.

Five vineyard blocks and seven clones of Pinot Noir were planted in 2016 followed by Chardonnay plantings the following year. Future plantings will consist of more classically Burgundian varieties including Gamay, while a state of the art production facility is currently under construction to house our growing dream and receive visitors soon.

The demanding terrain of this place, exemplifies our steadfast dedication to the philosophy of “la lutte raisonee”, meaning the reasoned struggle. This belief is central in all of our choices in farming and winemaking and is showcased in each glass of Solvero wines.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Integrity and honesty in all aspects of Viticulture and Winemaking is central to our ethos. We take great pride in both protecting and promoting the biodiversity of this land. Grapevines are the central crop of a developing polyculture at our Garnet Valley Vineyard. Forests that border areas of the vineyard are a vital part of the landscape. A plot of fruit trees, an extensive vegetable garden and resident free-range chickens and ducks are all currently part of the agriculture program.

PURITY + BALANCE

Our steeply sloped terrain is made up of glacial soils with varying degrees of sand, gravel, rock and loam. Pure in composition, balanced in farming.
