Our NEW 2024 Rosé

MADE IN BC USING OREGON GRAPES

Hi friends, can we be honest with you? 2023 and 2024 were tough years for the Okanagan Valley winegrowers and producers. The deep freezes took a serious toll on the vineyards of the valley. This isn’t a secret to keep but rather a story to tell – a story of resiliency, determination, and tenacity. BC winegrowers have a stick-to-itiveness that is a requirement for success in our industry. It has been humbling to watch as wineries find their footing and way forward.

We decided to weather the 2024 vintage by finding growing partners in Oregon who believe, as we do, that great wines start in vineyard. This wine was made in BC. Alison, our Winemaker, was on site in Oregon, to manage the entire process from vineyard selection, to harvest, to pressing. She continued this oversight when the pressed juice was brought back to the winery to be made into wine.

We choose our land and soil carefully, cultivating and caring for it in a way that allows us to translate what the vineyards we work with yields, as honestly as possible. We use minimally-invasive farming techniques because we strive to make wines that represent the natural environment surrounding the vineyards. The grapes for our first 2024 vintage release come from the Aebischer Vineyard in Oregon. This vineyard was carefully selected by our Winemaker as the source of our Pinot Noir for this rosé.

This beautiful site is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA in Oregon and boasts a high elevation, an east-facing slope with views of Mt. Hood and the Willamette Valley. Much like our vineyard in Garnet Valley, this location is known to preserve natural acidity and to develop optimal ripeness in the fruit. The terroir really speaks in this wine and is true to our core philosophy in representing truth in soil. We have made 200 cases of this dry rosé.

This wine will go into our cellar to rest, for the time being. In the meantime, you can continue to order and enjoy our 2023 Rosé.

Cheer from the Solvero Team!
