The Solvero 2024 Vintage
If we’re honest, 2023 and 2024 were tough years for the Okanagan Valley winegrowers and producers. The deep freezes took a serious toll on the vineyards of the valley. This isn’t a secret to keep but rather a story to tell – a story of resiliency, determination, and tenacity. BC winegrowers have a stick-to-itiveness that is a requirement for success in our industry. It has been humbling to watch as wineries find their footing and way forward. We decided to weather the 2024 vintage by finding growing partners in Oregon who believe, as we do, that great wines start in vineyard.
These wines were made in BC. Alison, our Winemaker, was on site in Oregon, to manage the entire process from vineyard selection, to harvest, to pressing. She continued this oversight when the pressed juice was brought back to the winery to be made into wine. We choose our land and soil carefully, cultivating and caring for it in a way that allows us to translate what the vineyards we work with yields, as honestly as possible. We use minimally-invasive farming techniques because we strive to make wines that represent the natural environment surrounding the vineyards.
